ESN Tirana Strengthens Commitment to Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue at Mediterranean Student Summit
From 1–3 October 2025, the city of Girona, Spain, hosted the 4th edition of the Mediterranean Student Summit, organized by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and UNIMED, with the support of the University of Girona. The summit brought together students and youth leaders from across the Mediterranean region to engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange ideas, and co-create policy recommendations aimed at contributing to the New Pact for the Mediterranean and the Barcelona Process.
ESN Tirana, as an active member of the Anna Lindh Foundation, reaffirmed its dedication to fostering intercultural understanding and regional cooperation. Represented by Genis Koloqi, the organization participated in youth-led discussions that addressed key challenges and opportunities facing Mediterranean communities. These conversations emphasized the importance of student engagement in shaping inclusive societies and strengthening civil society through education, mobility, and volunteerism.
A central theme of the summit was the creation of a “Mediterranean Erasmus Generation” — a collective of young people united by shared values, cross-border experiences, and a commitment to building a more connected and resilient region. ESN Tirana continues to support this vision by promoting Erasmus+ opportunities and empowering students to become active contributors to local and regional development.
Through ongoing initiatives and partnerships, ESN Tirana remains committed to advancing the EuroMed dialogue. By facilitating mobility, intercultural exchange, and civic participation, the organization plays a vital role in amplifying student voices and fostering collaboration between universities and civil society across the Mediterranean.
